Pano's & Paul's - Continental cuisine - also wonderful (pricey...) If you go, try their batter fried lobster tail - yum! Chops - Owned by the same people that own Pano's. Great steaks, chops, food and drink. The Buckhead Diner - a bit more casual (you get all types here - its actually a cosmopolitan crowd and pretty dressy on weekends). The food is great (they make a terrific homemade potato chips with bleu cheese (and cream) appetizer that I would die for right about now... Jason Lau's Orient Express (in Vinings) - Some of the best Chinese food I've ever eaten. The place is definitely upper scale with a dessert bar and everything. The Ritz Carlton Dining Room (in Buckhead) - This is a 5 star restaurant. Nuff said. For dessert you can either go to (a) The Dessert Place - in Buckhead. Wonderful desserts and all kinds of specialty coffees (b) The Cheesecake Factory - About 50 different kinds (plus other desserts) For an incredible selection of Wine by the glass (a place to stop just to have a drink) try Beasley's in Buckhead. They serve great vintage wines and champagne by the glass! They tell me that the restaurant - attached to the bar - is also great italian food, but I've never been. For upper scale Italian, you've gotta try Pricci. If you need any more, email me.. Olga
Best joint in Atlanta is Ciboullette, for French. Bone's for steak.

Thanks, >Michael Kranzdorf --- [email removed] >Director of Information Systems --- NYSE:KRT >Kranzco Realty Trust --- 610.941.9292 Try Hashigushi, Jr (Next to Lenox Mall) for sushi Try Yakitori Dan Chan (In Buckhead, on Peachtree) for casual Japanese Yakitori (see my full description of this place on alt.food.sushi) Try Brasserie Le Cose (In Lenox Mall) for French -- I'v ebeen to Brasserie Le Cose AND Ciboulette and found the former to be much preferable, and reasonably priced. For wings, try Three Dollar Cafe in Buckhead, or TacoMac (locations throughout Atlanta) Happy dining!! ---------------------------------------------- And your prejudice won't keep you warm tonight -- The Smiths ---------------------------------------------- Andrew

City Grill is wonderful. The Dining Room at Ritz Carlton Buckhead
is one of the best restaurants in the country, make your reservations well ahead of time. I had an excellent meal at the Swissotel in Buckhead two years ago.

This restaurant raises food to new heights, for sure!! Even though the waiters all don tuxes, the diners don't have to dress so formally----nice jeans will do, but you *can* dress up, if that's your pleasure. ANYthing on the menu will be a delight!! My husband and I have been there several times, and we've *never* been disappointed. Of course, the ultimate in "upscale" dining here is probably Nikolai's Roof--the Russian restaurant is at the top of the Atlanta Hilton; coat/tie is a must; reservations are a must; there are only 2 seatings nightly----continental dining at its most elegant----multi-course meals, authentic fare; attendants in the restrooms (tres civilized!!!); etc......great view of the city, as well. There are SO MANY places to suggest.....hope these 2 help a bit.....bon apetit!!!!! bp-p
Pano's and Pauls
A really elegant restaurant with continental
food with a nouvelle twist. Quite good. Not cheap. But well worth it. Great service too.

The only time I went somebody else paid, so I really didn't care! Its sister restaurant is across the street and is called the Mansion. The Abbey and the mansion are on Ponce de Leon. If a pricey and good place is your thing, there is also the Coach and Six on Peachtree and the CFity OOps, the City Grill downtown. Pete Wung
