I can think of 3 I have tried.

One in San Francisco a few blocks from the downtown Hilton. Cheap, hole in wall type place, awesome food. Not pandering to US tastebuds.

Place in Seattle (Java?) in Maple something neighborhood. Just there a few weeks ago. Dull as ditchwater. Pleasant food, but Indonesian it wasn't. They *do* have great artwork and pottery for sale at real cheap prices!

And finally, I'm glad to say:

Kim Tin on Buford Highway here in Atlanta. Been there twice in last week alone, it's great. Superb rendang and Soto Ayam. Excellent appetisers, some with shrimp paste by the spoonful (they warned me!).

It;s at 4646 Buford, in an otherwise Vietnamese strip mall on the left as you head away from town. Maybe 2-3 miles inside perimeter. (404) 454-0555.

Story is that Laosian family and Indonesian family are related by marriage, so they run a place that (currently) does Chinese/Thai/Indonesian.

Personally, I think they should do Laosian and Indonesian. Plenty of Thai in this town!

(the menu has 25 indonesian dishes, from $5 to $9)
