Orlando?
I'd like to tell everyone about a place to AVOID on US 192 about
4 miles east of I-4 but I can't remember the exact name, just that it had the words "farmer" and "table" in it and in Jan. 93 was featured on a changing billboard sign right by Old Town.
Our first clue that it might be an experience to remember was
when we had to pay up front and they did not just refuse American Express, they didn't take Visa either, only cash. The buffet food not only did not look apetizing, it actually looked old. But alas, a guy came out from the kitchen with more "food" and it looked like he had spilled some on his white t-shirt that didn't tuck in, spilled on it perhaps a few days back, and his ballcap had black stuff on it that looked like mechanical grease.
Out of about 10 occupied tables, (there were perhaps 50 empty),
our family could not find a smiling face -- only grumpy people that were trying to figure out if they could get back to their motels quickly enough before the food digested.

I'm sure I've never been to this : joint, but now I know to avoid avoid avoid it. Unfortunately, there are quite : a few places like that all around the Florida "countryside". That this : particular place could be found along 192 is good enough clue to us locals. : Most of that road is Hooterville Central. If you like pizza, try Uno's. Go to I-Drive, Church Street Station, or Lake Buena Vista. We like it because it's the only place we know where garlic is one of the choices for toppings. We always order the tomato and cheese with double minced garlic. If you are looking for "fancy," try Albert and Victoria's at the Grand Floridian at Disney. You also might like The Empress Lily at Disney Village next to Pleasure Island. There are a zillion restaurants in Orlando. I hope you find one you enjoy. Gayle
