If you like beef, Charley's Steak house is a must. They are about a mile north of the turnpike, on 441( Orange Blossom Trail). A Phone is 612-851-7130B
They use a mix of wood that gives the meat a terrific flavor.
They also have Langoustinos and crablegs, and a catch of the day.
There is another one on International drive. I've never been to that one.

good dining in Orlando

It is a very Florida restaurant which is local with only 4 locations: Lake Buena Vista, Church Street Station, Longwood (the original) and Winter Park. The Church Street location is more of a bar atmosphere, so I would recommend one of the other three. They advertise themselves as the "Casual Gourmet" and serve pastas, seafood and other light specialties. It has a good open area atmosphere and is the place I always take my out of town guests.....Enjoy!
The crab house was recommended to me and we ate there twice. Great food, but very crowded. We went to the one near WDW.

When I was in Orlando on business last year I ate at Chatham's Place, it's in an office building not too far from Universal Studios, in a fairly residential area. Excellent food... I also like the Portobello Yacht Club at the Pleasure Island complex at WDW (but you don't need to pay the PI admission to get into the restaurant). -- Bill [email removed]

The 4th Fighter Group restaurant, on Rickenbacker off of Colonial Avenue (407-898-4251) is outstanding. The beer cheese soup is a must. I've been there ten or more times and have never been disappointed. Ron's L.A. Tacos, on Colonial Ave., serves authentic TexMex. It's a bright, colorful, and reasonably priced cantina. The Steak and Ale, also on Colonial, east of downtown, is excellent. Boston Lobster Feast, (407-438-0607), serves a wide variety of seafood dishes. How about all-you-can-eat Boston lobster for $19.95?
