The Water's Edge resort in Westbrook has a very nice restaurant with L.I. Sound views. You can view a menu at their web site www.watersedge-resort.com to see if it's what you're looking for. There are also some good seafood places in Old Saybrook, about 5 miles East of Westbrook on I-95, such as the Saybrook Fish House.

You're heading to a great area for eating. All quotes are from the etablishments, themselves. I haven't been to all of them, but thoroughly enjoyed those I did visit (those with *)

In Westbrook:

Lenny and Joe's Fish Tale *
86 Boston Post Road
"The Best Since '79"

North Light Deli
478 Boston Post Road
"Awesome Sandwiches, Water View"

In Old Saybrook:

Dock and Dine Restaurant
Saybrook Point

Luigi's Restaurant *
1295 Boston Post Road

Paperback Cafe, Coffeehouse and Eatery *
210 Main Street
Breakfast all day, soups, sandwiches, salads

Aleia's
1687 Boston Post Road
"The Premier Casual Dining Restaurant"

Saybrook Point Inn and Marina
Terra Mar Grille
Bridge Street/Rte. 154

Pat's Country Kitchen *
70 Mill Rock Road (right off Exit 67 from 95)
(great breakfasts!!)

And on and on and on!

These are all "family" restaurants, but some are very pricy. The closer to the water, the more expensive!!

If you have the time, head north on Route 154 out of Old Saybrook and visit Essex. A quaint little New England village. EVERYTHING there is expensive, of course. But it's a neat place to walk around. And, in October, you'll have the streets to yourselves.

Here area coule of websites:

www.westbrookct.com

www.oldsaybrookct.com

Have fun!!
