Here's three of my family's favorites:

1) Spazzi's in Fairfield - Roasted garlic and great homemade bread - tremendous Italian food and great deserts.

2) Meeting Street Grill in Fairfield - This is the place Joni and I usually celebrate our honeymoon at. They bring cous cous and grits to a different level. The cous cous with salmon is unbelievably flavorful.

3) Baja's in Orange - This place is a tremendous find. Completely unpretencious. You order at a counter and then they bring the food to your table. Don't be put off by the casualness of Baja's. They are serious about serving the best Mexican food this side of Mexico, and I believe they pull it off!

Spazzi? The other two, yes, but not Spazzi.

Meson Galicia in Norwalk is the best in Fairfield County, IMHO. Ristorante Zanghi and Da Pietro in Westport close behind. There's a new place in Greenfield Hill (Fairfield) that's supposed to be terrific, but I haven't been.
