I assume this restaurant is still there, I ate there three years ago. Cliff Young's downtown is excellent continental cuisine. If you can make it up to Boulder, The Flagstaff House will definitely provide an unforgettable experience but not cheap!

My all-time favorite, and where I've chosen to have Xmas dinner for about the past six years, is the Briarwood out in Golden (if you're not familiar with Denver metro, Golden is one of our western suburbs and home to the Coors Brewery. BTW, the Briarwood is also where my ex and I used to share anniversary dinners, too. Denver has LOTS of excellent restaurants, so if you want to limit it to a particular part of the metro area, or even to a specific cuisine, like Chinese or Vietnamese or whatever, or to a given price-range, let me know and I'll see what there is to suggest. Hope this helps. --Bob +-----------------------------------+-----------------------------------+ : Robert M. There have been several people talk about some nice restaurants in the Denver area. These include Cliff Youngs, Flagstaff House (in Boulder),The Fort and The Briarwood. They are all nice but I would try a wonderful & romantic restaurant in the Scanticon Hotel (Denver Tech Center) called The Black Swan. It is rather small (about 15-20 tables) and requires jackets for gentlemen. The menu changes specials from week to week (chefs pick), contains fish, beef, chicken, duck , game and etc. They always have several specials that contain all courses from appetizers to deserts -- one price. The food is outstanding (the desserts -- great) and the prices aren't bad. I know people who would always just go to a favorite place like the Briarwood that have changed their favorite restuarant to The Black Swan!

The tables are on the small side, but the service and food are excellent. If you are heading to Boulder, there is a pizza buffet at Giovanni's where pizza is custom-made. Healthy Habits offers a fairly nice salad bar with healthy dessserts, cooked food, and frozen yoghurt included.
