On our last visit, we really enjoyed L'Alabamba in Grand Case. Wonderful food, exceptional service, and about half the price of the restaurants in Grand Case that are on the water! We also went to a place in Marigot that was great - but I forget the name of it :( It was in the second story of a small hotel in the middle of town. Very tucked away. If you find it, you need reservations. It has a fixed price menu. If I can rememeber the name, I'll send you email.

Go to the Orient beach on the French side. At one end of the large arc (the end which is not built up with hotels) there is an outdoor bazaar consisting of various t-shirt booths, etc. There is also a BBQ shack which serves dynamite ribs. My wife and I bought a plate piled high with ribs for 5 or 6 bucks and it was enough for both of us. Ah yes, sitting in the shade of palm trees on the Orient beach, drinking beer and eating outstanding ribs. That was wonderful!!!
