Try Le Bifteque on Iris St. It's By the Pinecrest Mall (Ikea, Michael's, Chapter's). Great food, excellent buffet selection. I think it is $14.95 per person.

I've been going to Marble Works for years and find that brunch very good, in fact you reminded me that I am overdue for a return visit. Dan

I ate a Le Bifteque (for supper) not brunch and that was the worst steack I had in a "steak house". The Rose Bowl on Carling ave. had by far the best steak and seafood . Energy

For those with more than ten dollars and taste buds in their mouth, Stoneworks by Les Suites Hotel downtown. And Le Bifteque is awesome as well, it's kind of in the sticks by definition of someone visiting Ottawa ($15 dollar cab ride from downtown and snuggled away enough that the locals barely notice it until it's discovered by accident).

I am in agreement with the poor service of Al's Steak House. My husband and I went when I was pregnant. We had a reservation for a non smoking table. Yup, you guessed it, they put us in a smoking seat and said they would not seat smokers next to us. Half way through our meal we were moved to a non smoking table. (I can assure you that our waiter was not pleased about this either.) The service was terrible, the food was cold and it really wasn't that good as far as steaks go. Al's is overpriced for the food and service they provide. I have not been back since.
