Truly hidden pearls. If you want more info on the following, please E-Mail me. For years, these establichments have been a source of extreme enjoyment & pleasure to my wife & I:

1) Manoir des Erables, in Montmagny; abt 40 km fr. Quebec City; great menu, esp. in Oct. during snow geese hunt. Wine list out of this world...be prepared to look at wines of $1,500+ on menu...but much more affordable are available. Exquisite turn of century suites are avail.

2)St Jean Port Jolie: near Quebec City : try la Coureuse de Greve: excellent sea food and very affordable.

3) Quebec City: if your wallet is thick, enjoy Serge Bruyere (rue St Jean)... you will NOT find a better wine cellar in all of Europe. If budget minded, try affordable but great spots on Grande Allee (abt 1 km west of Chateau Frontenac.

4) The PEARL OF PEARLS: L'Auberge- Marie-Blanc in Notre-Dame-du-Lac, P.Q., near the N.B. & Maine borders. This place is unique, both in menu and romantic settings. E Mail me if need more info. This is the BEST place for lovers of Beaudelaire & Pantagruel! It was originaly a summer retreat for a New York tycoon & his mistress [there are remnants of a private railroad line to the front door !.] It is believed that Frank Lloyd Wright designed the plans.
