Sammy's is nice, but a bit overpriced for what it is. (but yeah, their calzone does rock!) I moved from San Diego about two years ago, but here's a few places I miss very much. If you're standing looking at Sammy's, head left a few corners until you get to the French restaurant, whose name escapes me. VERY good. Ichiban on University Avenue in Hillcrest. More of a cafe style - order your delicious japanese food/sushi at the counter and then grab a table. It's cheap, healthy, and delicious. There's also Kung Food on 5th Ave for some really good vegetarian. And Old Town Mex in Old Town. Also, I really miss the Spaghetti Factory. Definately cheap, but with loads of food! Have fun!
