I consider Green's to be about the best vegetarian restaurant I've eaten in anywhere in the country. Service used to be a problem but they've somehow fixed that. Reserve ahead for weekend nights. I think they are prix fixe Thu-Sun, and fairly expensive by vegetarian standards. Worth it, though. The non-vegetarians in your group will be surprised how much they enjoy it.

Recommendation for vegetarian restaurant in SF
One of my favorite restaurants in the City is VegiFood, located on Clement and 22nd Ave. The cuisine is oriental but far from the pedestrian fare of ordinary Chinese "take-outs". Part of the distinctiveness comes from the exclusion of garlic, MSG and dairy products. I highly recommend the sweet and sour fried walnuts: large walnut halves lightly coated and fried to a crisp texture; smothered with a tangy natural sauce dressed with julienne carrots, peppers and onions. The place has 4 booths and 3 tables. It usually fills up by the evening, so we make a habit of arriving by 6:00pm. B.H.

Dinner ranges $30 to $60 per person. An excellent alternative is on Clement, around 19th, (??) called Vegi Food. Also 9th and Judah, forget the name, but the sweet and sour walnut still calls me.
