Rappa's In Monterey - Fisherman's Wharf - Disaster.

   I have never in my life sent a dish back before due to just lack of
Value. this was the first.

   I rarely ever sent anything back at all, for any reason. I figure I pay
for my own mistake for ordering it, then remember not to do it again.

   Not so at RAPPA'S, at the end of the Wharf in Monterey, during my recent
vacation.

  I've ordered a Tony's Sampler, which was $15.00 and was hoping to get a
sample of fish including Salmon, and two other fresh fish samples with veggies.. standard fish plate.

  The waitress has arrived with a plate, and on it there was literally 3
small bites of fish, a ton of broccoli and not much else. The fish was cut in bite size square pieces, that looked like a very small appetizer.

  I have not even tasted it. I told the waitress that I understood that I
was eating in a tourist trap, and I fully expected to pay well for a lovely seaside dinner with view, but I will not be insulted by this plate of bite appetizer. I realize $15.00 is not a lot of money, but the Value was so incredibly and blatantly under any expectation that I simply had it taken off my bill, and ate some of my daughter's Fried Squid.

   I suggest people avoid Rappa's in Monterey. A very shameless act.

   On another hand, I also ate at Wharfside the night before, and it was
Excellent! Great appetizer, and a very good Chioppino. Good value as well. It's on the same pier, just a couple of doors down. Go figure..
