Nepali Restaurant in Silicon Valley

Last weekend I had the pleasure of celebrating Dashain (a Hindu holiday) with a group of Nepali and Nepali-Americans in Tracy, CA (near Stockton.) The event was catered by Kathmandu West, a Nepali restaurant in Cupertino. The food was terrific!  For those of you not familiar with Nepali food, it's similar to Northern Indian food, but with a lighter touch on the spices and a few unique dishes.  When I was in Nepal, I really enjoyed the just-picked freshness of the vegetables and the incredibly *tasty* potatoes. Kathmandu West replicates this by using all fresh vegetables and new potatoes.

I haven't been to the restaurant....yet!  But my husband is crazy enough about the food to have driven from Reno to Cupertino just for dinner.
