I has trying to remember the name of the place - thanks for the memory jog. It's not that they don't have 'mock meat', there's plenty of tempeh and TVP, they just don't advertise it as being 'mock' anything (and unsulting perfectly good barnyard animals in the process). I never liked the way everything but the rice is cold, and reheated in a microwave, but it's good tasty, and cheap food otherwise. I've never seen a 'restaurant' like it on the other side of 17, though.

I was never to the sit-down version of the restaurant up on Soquel since it had strange hours and always seemed closed.

I love the Asian Rose restaurant in Santa Cruz, but it's a bit of a drive. Does anyone know of a restaurant in the South Bay/Peninsula that has similar food? (dishes from different Asian cuisines, Vegetarian/Vegan, tasty sauces, but no "mock" meats).
