I made the mistake of dropping into Kuletto's (in Burlingame, along Hwy 101) for dinner with friends last week. I had been there once before and thought it was so-so, had been convinced to try it again, and fell for it... Never Again! I truly don't understand how that place stays open. I "had" the Manicotti. It was a couple chewy pasta tubes whose (usually light & fluffy, when done right) cheese insides had been melted down into a sticky goo. The whole mess was then put afloat in a lake of less-than-room-temperature cream sauce. I stopped after a few bites. Both of my compatriots had varying styles of risotto. Neither were good -- the first was (like my manicotti) barely room temperature, but swimming in oil and green onion -- the other was something involving sun-dried-tomato and yet more oil and while pretty bad, was arguably the best dish of the night. Service was basically similar to a hotel restaurant. Ie, they were nice kids and quick with the ice water, dessert menu, and bill, but otherwise just unconcerned. So my overall impression of the night ----> Oooops... Allan
