Vegan:
Real Food Daily - Santa Monica
The Spot - Hermosa Beach
Venus in Venice - Venice

Vegetarian: Most Indian joints are pretty good for vegetarians Madhu's Dasaprakash - West L.A. Chandni - West L.A. and Venice Love and Serve - Westwood Paru's - Hollywood

Vegetarian friendly:
A Votre Sante' - Brentwood and Venice

Vegetarian hostile: (from menu observations only)
Most places with valet parking and no prices on the menus. $15-to-infinity for grilled vegetables? Homey don't think so.

So far nothing to equal the food/location of Greens in San Francisco, though.

Try Follow Your Heart in Canoga Park, on Sherman Way near Topanga. Its a health food store with a very good restaurant in the back.

Totally vegetarian, and many vegan dishes - but - not necessarily low fat, low sodium, but there are plenty of choices to that end as well. They've been around I think close to thirty years, it was started by hippies from Topanga.

If you're talking about Lenores Mexican Food, its not in Sherman Oaks, its in North Hollywood, at Victory and Tujunga. I've only been there once, and it was a while ago. But I know that the people who go there regularly absolutely love it. The woman who owns it (I think its Lenore), is sort of this rags to riches story of a Hispanic woman who came to the US as a housecleaner and was able to work her way to own a few restaurants, and then got into the veggie thing.

Yes - that's Leonora's Vegetarian Mexican - 2 locations both in N Hollywood. One on Victory @ Tujunga and the other I think is on Moorpark and Whitsett or Riverside and Moorpark. It's great! Delicious homemade bread - flax tea. Huge portions. No atmosphere, but very good and a good deal! Also has a few meat dishes for non-vegetarians.
