I'm sick of : fake Greek from those stupid gyros joints. There is a surprisingly decent Greek restaurant in Davis called "Symposium". They make good appetizers like taramosalata, garides, saganaki and tzatziki. Most of the time I go there we end up just ordering a bunch of appetizers and sharing them. The mousaka and kalamarakia(fried baby squid) are good main courses. Stay away from the souvlaki and gyros as they aren't as good as the other items on the menu. They have daily specials, which from what I've sampled range from excellent(red-snapper in tomato-feta sauce) to not so good(Pasta shells stuffed with a spinach/feta filling). I agree with you about the prevalence of stupid gyro joints, they are the Greek-food equivalent of Taco Bell. -george
