We recently went to Ecco in Burlingame. Wow. Granted, it was a bit pricey (entrees in the $20 range), but I've paid more for less. I can only describe it as European with a hint of Californian cuisine. The service was first class. Many things on the menu looked good. I had the broiled salmon on a portabello over a risotto cake with chiptole sauce around it. Tasty! It came with a seafood bisque that was great. When we went, it was slightly early and all men there were in a coat and tie with the glaring exception of me (we had no idea how dressy or not dressy it was).
