I just don't understand Tanith's assertion that one can be homesick for food from anywhere on a continent. I mean, if I'm homesick for paella, pierogies aren't gonna do it for me just because Poland is on the same continent as Spain.

It strikes me as reductive, and implicitly racist, to assert that any random African food will make her expatriate acquaintances happy if they're homesick.

There's a good Senegalese place at 3388 19th St. in SF called Keur Baobab. Unfortunately they have extremely random opening hours, and it's sort of hit or miss whether or not they'll be open for dinner on any given day.
