Well............................I have done alot of postings about BBQ and I must admit that I was all wrong after today.

TWIN ANCHORS
1655 North Sedgwick

It is NOT possible for any other place to equal their ribs! This is not as joke-------I have finally reached Rib Heaven.

(I even bought a green tee shirt emblazened with their name etc. and this will be the first printed t-shirt I will wear as outerware.)

THIS IS NOT A JOKE!

It truly unbelieveable.

(Take the zesty BBQ sauce!)

A wonderful friendly place but remember---------------No dancing allowed! _ _ Eliyahu Ross, H.A.H.

Hi there Jude!

Thanks for such prompt feedback.

Let me take the easy approach...........(my way of life).....I had sides of onion rings and coleslaw, there were other choices but my orgasmic indulgence prevents from recalling anything more than the ribs and sauce.......i think they offer baked potatoes, french frys, salad n addition to the coleslaw and rings, but not sure since I am still in euphoria.

The onion rings were magnificient and large and plentiful; the cole slaw was MY kind, the creamy. The price of the ribs was including introductory bread and butter was $16.95 plus I asked for and received extra zesty bbq sauce. Good wine was $5 per glass. I also bought a consumer bottle of their sauce for $3. Super hamburger with the same sides was $5.75.

The bbq was smoky, sweet and zesty (sounds like me, e'h Jude). I have a parking sticker for that area, but parking can be a big problem. They have valet parking for $4.

Presntation was better than Capital Grill or Spruce.

The t-shirt was $12 in XXL.

All prices plus tax.

The ambiance was like Ambria and/or Heaven on Seven, with a slight local neighborhood touch; formal atire not necessary, causal attire is generally acceptable; wait staff was fiesty, super-efficient and friendly......................

......................BUT REMEMBER................

                   NO DANCING ALLOWED

ps: long waits no reservations except for six or more, but takeout always promptly attended to.

A COMPLETE COSMIC BOUNTY!

You're absolutely right! I saw this post yesterday (Thursday, Apr.9) and I went for dinner last night. For the last three years, I've been looking for the best ribs, and these are them. So tasty and the bones just fall right out.
I'll definitely be back to Twin Anchors again in the near future. My girlfriend had the filet mignon, and it was equally outstanding. Thanks for the recommendation.

Otto

PS - And you're right, there's ABSOLUTELY NO DANCING!

Have you tried Giovanni's at 6823 Roosevelt in Berwyn? One of my favorites! Tender, yet still stays on the bone. You just missed the Lenten specials which are offered on Fridays, if I remember correctly.

Ribs are served with scallopped potatos or BBQ beans, plus cole slaw. Also their antipasto is VERY good, the small one is enough for two. Good prices, very friendly staff.

They are open til midnight during the week and 1am on Friday and Saturday. They also deliver locally - 708-795-7171.

They participate in Rib Fests thruout the country and have won quite a few of them.
