Oyster Bay, on Long Island's north shore, is where Theodore Roosevelt kept his Sagamore Hill home, and reporters and photographers came there often during his years in public life. The Bain News Service, run by George Grantham Bain in New York, supplied newspapers with pictures of people in the news, and its glass negatives capture that steady flow of images in the early twentieth century. The title comes from the agency's own notes and has not been independently verified, so treat it as a general view of Roosevelt's Oyster Bay life rather than a confirmed event.
