This color lithograph tells service members that their uniform is their pass, promising that the organization can advise them on what to see, where to eat, and where to sleep while on leave. It was issued by War Camp Community Service, a civilian group formed in 1917 to provide recreation, lodging, and off-duty support for soldiers and sailors near training camps and port cities. The poster's direct, friendly address reflects the effort to offer servicemen wholesome alternatives to saloons and crowded boarding houses. Its printed instructions to apply at any Service Club show how the program relied on a network of local centers across the country.
