The title places this glass negative in Fullerton, Boston, in 1924, though the name comes from the National Photo Company's own label and has not been independently verified. The company, based in Washington, D.C., produced large numbers of city views across the United States in the early twentieth century, and its negatives record the streets and buildings of that period. Herbert A. French gave this example to the Library of Congress in 1947. The surface shows streaks and blemishes from the natural deterioration of the original coatings, which are part of the plate's physical history.
