A text-only recruiting poster that quotes a speech by the Rev. William P. Burke, a curate at Cahir in County Tipperary, dated 14 November 1915. Burke contrasts the German uprooting of some 25,000 Polish farmers, who were replaced by Germans, with the British government's efforts to resettle Irish people on their own soil, then asks whether Germany would treat Ireland any differently. The appeal ties local land and loyalty to the wider war, and it urges every young man of military age to join the colors at a time when recruiting in Ireland was contested. The poster was printed by Alex. Thom & Co., a well-known Dublin printing firm on Abbey Street.
