The only identification for this glass negative is the surname Moiselwitsch, a caption the Bain News Service wrote on the negative or its card, and the record marks it as unverified. The name may refer to a performer, since the agency's photographers covered many public figures, including stage and concert artists. The Bain News Service operated in New York from about 1906 into the 1920s, and its small glass plates, usually 5 by 7 inches or smaller, make up a large part of the George Grantham Bain Collection at the Library of Congress. Researchers should treat the name as a starting point and check it against period newspapers.
