The only identifying detail for this glass negative is the caption "Bresler," which the Library of Congress notes is unverified and was taken from the negative or its caption card. George Grantham Bain's agency in New York supplied news pictures to newspapers and magazines in the early twentieth century, so a picture like this was probably made for a story of the day. Glass negatives of five by seven inches or smaller were the standard working format for press photographers of that era, and their fine detail is a large part of why researchers still consult the collection.
