The title, *The Echo*, and the signature of A. Borie identify this 1896 color lithograph, which was engraved and printed by the Chicago Photo-Engraving Co. in Chicago. Color lithography was then the main way commercial posters reached the street, with a separate stone or plate for each ink. Borie's poster belongs to the broader boom in illustrated advertising of the 1890s, when publishers and manufacturers used bold figures and bright inks to catch the eye. The record's details come from an older caption card and have not been independently checked.
