*Le Matin* ("The Morning") is a lithograph signed in pencil and numbered 113 in a series called *Nouvelles Études Variées*. Lafosse drew it after a design by Chiapory, and Lemercier, a Paris firm known for lithographic printing in the 1800s, printed the sheet. The publishers, Bulla Frères et Jouy, also issued it in Paris. The record gives no date, so the plate is best placed by its printer and publisher. Its catalog tags point to women as the subject.
