Fred Astaire dances at the center of a large group of men in this scene from *Top Hat*, the 1935 RKO musical that paired him with Ginger Rogers and was directed by Mark Sandrich. The caption card dates the print to 1953, but that date is unverified and most likely reflects when the still was made or catalogued, since the film itself came out nearly two decades earlier. Studios issued stills like this one to promote their pictures and to document productions, which is why they often outlast the films they came from.
