Registered for copyright under the number D21823 and dated to November 19, circa 1900, this print bears the plain title *Christmas time* and was deposited with the U.S. Copyright Office, which protected an image against unauthorized copying. Around the turn of the twentieth century, holiday scenes like this were widely reproduced in magazines, greeting cards and inexpensive prints, so images of this kind reached households across the country. The library's catalog card links the print to a James Dobie, but the library notes that this attribution is unverified and should be checked against other sources before it is cited.
