Three men who helped shape the Scouting movement appear together in this glass negative: Ernest Thompson Seton, Robert Baden-Powell, and Daniel Carter Beard. Seton and Beard were central to building Scouting in the United States, and Baden-Powell had founded the movement in Britain in 1907. The Bain News Service, a Manhattan photo agency, made and captioned the negative, though the record gives no date, so the exact occasion is unknown. Its title comes from unverified caption information, so the meeting itself should be confirmed before it is cited as fact.
