Few wartime posters on this board advertise a film about Italy's front, and this one stands out for its claim of an arrangement with the Italian government, which suggests the footage was official rather than commercial invention. Printed in color in 1918, it was pasted up to announce a week-long run at a local theater beginning Monday, July 15. By that summer, Italy had been fighting Austria-Hungary for three years, and the June fighting along the Piave River was still fresh, so a film promising scenes from that front drew on both patriotic interest and curiosity about a theater of war far from the Western Front.
