Few details survive about this picture beyond its title, which places a chorus girl at a benefit connected to the *Titanic*. The Bain News Service, a New York picture agency that sold news photographs to newspapers from the early 1900s into the 1920s, made the glass negative, and the title comes from its own caption data, which has not been independently checked. After the liner sank in April 1912, theaters and entertainers across the country staged benefits for survivors and the families of those who died, so the setting most likely reflects that wave of charity events. Because the record gives no date or venue, the exact occasion remains uncertain.
