The title on this negative is cut short at "Tex," and the original caption was torn away, so the subject is best read as a place or view whose name begins that way. The National Photo Company, which operated in Washington, D.C., in the early twentieth century, produced many views of American towns, landmarks and scenes for commercial sale, and its plates were usually made in batches like this one. The date range of 1910 to 1926 places it in the company's most active years. The glass support has also suffered the streaks and blemishes that come from aging emulsion, a common trait of plates from this era.
