Raymond W. Pullman sits behind a desk, facing the camera at half-length, in a studio portrait the Library of Congress dates to around September 28, 1908. The print was copyrighted by Waldon Fawcett, a Washington, D.C., photographer, and its copyright number suggests it was deposited for registration, a common route by which early twentieth-century studio portraits reached the Library. The date and identifications come from an old caption card and have not been independently verified, so the desk setting and pose are the most reliable clues to the sitter's working life.
