Mary Pickford posed with aviation pioneer Glenn L. Martin in aviator costume for a scene from the motion picture *Girl of Yesterday*, a film from the 1910s. The pairing is striking: Pickford was among the most popular screen actresses of the era, while Martin was building airplanes in California and would go on to found the company that became Martin Marietta. The print was made later, around the 1930s, and survives in the Glenn L. Martin papers at the Library of Congress, which is why it documents both the filmmaking and the aviation careers of its two subjects.
