The more women at work the sooner we win!" This 1943 poster urges women to take up wartime jobs and directs them to their local U.S. Employment Service. The Government Printing Office issued it as Office of War Information Poster No. 52, based on a photograph by Alfred T. Palmer. As men left for military service, millions of American women took paid work in factories, shipyards and offices, and posters like this one helped bring them into those jobs.
