Identified on its negative sleeve as the J.J. Dutar house, this glass negative shows a residence whose owner is known only from that unverified title, so the name is best treated as a lead. It belongs to the National Photo Company Collection, the work of an early twentieth-century commercial studio that photographed Washington, D.C., and nearby places, and the date range of about 1910 to 1925 is inferred from other negatives in the same group. The streaks and blemishes on the glass are typical of coatings that have deteriorated over the century since the plate was made.
