The title promises the "New North," a name boosters gave the logged-over country of northern Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula as settlers and summer visitors followed the railroads there. The Milwaukee, Lake Shore and Western, often called the West Shore, promoted its line with farmland, timber and resort hotels. Printed in Chicago by Poole Bros. between 1890 and 1910, this chromolithograph uses bright color to make a trip north look like the start of a holiday.
