A vintage ad built around an oversized 7Up bottle sets the drink up as a family affair rather than a grown-up one. Giant bottles were a favorite prop in mid-century soft drink advertising, because they turned an ordinary beverage into something that filled the page and caught the eye of a passing reader. The soda's "Uncola" pitch, introduced in the 1960s, positioned it against colas and gave brands like this one a cheerful, clean-cut image worth noticing in the layout and lettering.
