Printed in Italian for an Italian audience, this 1917 color lithograph carries the title "La guerra delle munizioni," or "The Munitions War," and is numbered 15 in its series. It argues that Britain had turned its factories toward shell and weapons production once the war demanded more than the prewar economy could supply. The Ministry of Munitions, created in 1915 under David Lloyd George, led that shift, and the poster was likely meant to encourage Italy, an ally facing its own ammunition shortages. Its subject headings point to the ordnance industry in England, so it reads as a case for industrial mobilization rather than a battle scene.
