A glass negative from the Bain News Service, this view records a Boston Red Sox team that date from the 1915 season. That year the club won the American League pennant and went on to face the Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series, which Boston won in five games. Bain's agency sold news photographs to newspapers across the country, so its negatives capture many early twentieth-century ballplayers and crowds. The title and date come from notes made by the agency and have not been independently verified.
