A special train sent to carry a body is the event this glass negative records, with the deceased identified only as De Las Rias. The Bain News Service, a commercial agency that sold news pictures to newspapers, made the plate, and the title comes from its caption cards, which the Library of Congress describes as unverified. Pictures like this belong to Mexico's turbulent 1910s, when railroads were often the most dependable link between distant cities, and the undated plate is best read within that period.
