Filmed at Chepstow Castle on the Welsh border, this poster advertises a three-reel Imp feature directed by Herbert Brenon and adapted from Walter Scott's 1819 novel. The subjects list names King Baggott, a leading Imp player, in the title role of Sir Wilfred of Ivanhoe, the knight who returns from the Crusades to a England divided by Norman rule. The castle setting gave the production the stone walls and medieval look that audiences expected from Scott's romance. Posters like this one were part of how early studios promoted longer films, which were still relatively new in the 1910s.
