The only identifying detail this negative carries is its title, "Badet," a name the Bain News Service attached from caption cards that the Library of Congress has not verified. The record gives no date, location or photographer, so the subject itself remains uncertain. The negative belongs to the George Grantham Bain Collection, made by a New York news photo agency that supplied pictures of people and events to newspapers in the early twentieth century. Its glass plate is worth noticing because it reflects a working press operation rather than a finished magazine print.
