Titled *The Fruits of Victory*, this 1918 color poster by Leonebel Jacobs ties the home kitchen to the war effort, promoting the National War Garden Commission's call for backyard gardens and home canning. During the First World War, American families were urged to preserve their own produce so that commercial food could go to soldiers and to Allied civilians in Europe. Printed by offset lithography and sponsored by the Army Signal Corps, it shows how seriously the government took everyday food saving.
