Two pages from a German-language Bible printed in New York in 1892 belonged to Rabbi Samuel Weiss, the father of Harry Houdini, and his business card is included with them. Houdini later wrote a dedication in *The Unmasking of Robert-Houdin* to the memory of his father, signing it with his birth name, Ehrich Weiss. The card and the inscription show a father determined to find religious work in a new country and a son who kept those family ties close long after he had become famous as a magician.
