This color lithograph advertises Arrow handkerchiefs, and its headline stresses that they came "clean and soft in sanitary packages." That emphasis on sealed, hygienic packaging reflects 1920s advertising, when manufacturers often promised freedom from germs as a selling point. The Arrow name belonged to Cluett, Peabody & Company of Troy, New York, a firm best known for Arrow collars and shirts, so the handkerchief line shows how the brand extended its men's furnishings. The poster's date is only given as the 1920s, and its maker is not recorded.
