Ebbets Field was the Brooklyn Dodgers' home ballpark from 1913 until the team left for Los Angeles after the 1957 season, and it hosted several Fall Classic games across those decades. The Dodgers won their only World Series as a Brooklyn club in 1955, beating the New York Yankees, and that title is tied to the park in fans' memories. The stadium was demolished in 1960, so pictures like this one now serve as a record of a ballpark that many New Yorkers still associate with the postwar era.
